Sometimes that's just the way it goes.

This will be the last blog I will be writing that can include views from a venue owners point of view, as Sunwolf and I will be closing our pub after the Friday shows this week. This is due to RL issues that have resulted in our having less time and less money to be able to use on SL. I will take this opportunity to thank all the Musicians and their fans for supporting us while we were running, it has been a joy to host for you.
It is not all bad news however, as closing the pub will leave us free to attend more live shows at other venues, so I will be writing about that, and of course we do intend to continue playing ourselves. It is just that everything will have to be a bit scaled down including this blog. It is likely that I will now be writing on an, as and when basis, ( probably 2 weekly rather than weekly, but I am not sure about that yet, it just depends on how everything pans out. Now to the weekly round up.
Monday saw Wolf n Hawk playing at Southbound, we had managed to catch most of Mamaa Saiz, and he always plays an excellent show.
Audience  numbers were better than they had been for awhile and we felt our show went well. We were not able to hang around afterwards though as RL was calling us back with things that needed attending to.
Tuesday, we played at the Drunken Drow and audience numbers were reasonable considering there was no one before us and no one following. We have often found that when this is the case less people seem to turn up.
Wednesday, we were hosting at our place, where first Ronnie Mayes and then Gweeb gave us some great music. Ari, our little dragonette was due to follow, but we had a phone call from her saying her Internet was playing up and so she had to cancel. Our dear friend Steveeolio offered to stand in, but he too had problems as his stream refused to function for more than 30 seconds at a time resulting in the set having to be aborted.
Thursday was claimed totally by RL meaning we had to forgo our time at Spice again, hopefully this will not be happening all the time as we miss being able to attend this lovely little venue to spend time with dear friends.
Friday, Wolf n Hawk played Guthries and after our set we had just settled in to watch Moses Rae when we had RL guests turn up unexpectedly. We have always asked folks to ring us before they come over, but that was not the case this time.
Later that day we logged on again to go to Ronnie and Anna's new venue, The Crown and Anchor, where we heard Gweeb doing his particular mix of madness and great tunes. We were also able to catch some of Ronnie's set too. This was the first time he and Sue, ( the Violinist with his RL band) had played a set in SL and wow I am so glad we were there. I don't know if they will be playing together regularly, but they are definitely not to be missed. We could not stay for the whole set as we were hosting at the pub so had to get on over there,in fact, we wouldn't have been able to catch the set at all, but our first show had cancelled due to RL issues.

                                                      Bronze 8020 at the pub

Bronze8020 was our only show that evening (our time), but he gave us a wonderful set of great tunes, he is someone we will definitely catch around the music scene.
Saturday, Sunwolf and I were at our usual haunt for our dose of Crazy Cuddlers. Quinton Whitman kicked
it all off with a great set.
Laid Back Celt then took over and we always enjoy listening to him.
Then it was the turn of Whirli Placebo. We had not caught him before and Wow what a show, the first piece he did was over 40 minutes long as he strung various tunes together seemingly effortlessly. What a unique and amazing sound we just loved it.
Sunday was another day spent in RL and that brings us up to date.

So that was  our week.
I do have another piece of news, for as our pub closes, Laid Back Celt and his lovely  SL Wife Stinna are opening their own small venue. Sunwolf and I wish them well with this venture and when I have had a chance to visit I will be writing about it here.

Till next time love to you all.
